Cake, Easter eggs and Biscuits…throw diabetes to the wind, it’s the first meet of the year!

On Saturday, the OS artists were able catch up with one another as well as warmly welcome this year’s newbies, those artists who are new to the scheme of which there are nearly 20. This was an important event set up by the committee (led by chairman, Lisi Ashbridge) for this years artists to meet at St. Mary’s Church in Marlborough and proof read the artists’ profiles before they go to print. The OS group trip to the AAF

Our trip up to the AAF at Battersea was real fun. As well as being mesmerised by the various types and calibres of work, it was a great opportunity to see how people framed, presented, hung, priced and labelled work. at the centre of the venue was not only the best cappuccino bar but also a Print Studio stand. The Affordable Art Fair, Battersea - overview.

The Affordable Art Fair is on in Battersea right now so a little OS collective went up to investigate. The AAF has shows all over the world and is one of the biggest fine art buying contenders when it comes to London art fairs, London being the art capital of the world. The show is brimming with visitors even though we went on a weekday. Amanda Hutchings, Bursary Winner - MENTORING DAY #1

Part of the OS scheme is to encourage and support new and emerging artists, so each year we award a bursary. Part of the bursary is mentoring. In our 20th anniversary year we have awarded two bursaries. Amanda Hutchings is one winner and here is an account of her first day of mentoring. The mentorship day can be hands-on drawing practice, technical advice and show advice.
