Jane makes lamps, wall lights and candle lights in porcelain, imprinted with intricate lino cut designs. Over the years, Jane has carved hundreds of individual lino peices; leaves, flowers, shells, insects and fossils, which she arranges to create unique designs for each light. This year she has added feathers to her collection. Her lamp bases are turned from local wood by Aldbourne wood turner Daved Mann using characterful oak and ash.
Jane also works in resin metals. Powdered metals such as tin, copper, brass and iron are blended and bound with resin to create a material that can be cast and hand applied, creating surfaces that would be difficult to produce in solid metal. She combines this material with a black ceramic base to display the rich metal designs.
Jane works and exhibits with Jacqui Melhuish, Mary Thorne and Kate Wade at the Wagon Yard Artists studio.
Jane will be present on Sat 2nd and Sun 3rd but her work will be shown until Sat 22nd July.
