I am a self-taught designer-maker of commemorative metal objects, contemporary jewellery and sculpture that reflect people’s individual taste and the unique properties of titanium, niobium and other materials. I am an elected member of the Surrey Guild of Craftsmen, have exhibited at galleries across the UK and taught reactive metal techniques at a College of Art in Scotland. I am inspired by exploring the range of colours and finishes I can achieve using this difficult group of metals, and by the challenges of turning unsympathetic material into a beautiful object of desire. I also enjoy sharing my enthusiasm and techniques, some of which I have invented, with members of the public. Visitors to my studio will see my work, understand how it is made and why titanium makes an ideal material for jewellery and commemorative objects.
