Meriel continues to paint in oils using strong colours and multi-loaded palette knives to achieve her particular take on subjects. Slowly working up to the essence of the painting is important to her which often results in impasto and an almost 3D effect. Her full-size paintings measure from 40 x 30 cm to 75 x 60 cm. For 2017 Marlborough Open Studios there will be atmospheric landscapes particularly from Wiltshire and Scotland. Also still lifes, both simple and more complex, and some prints. Visitors are welcome to explore the ever-changing garden.
Meriel will be sharing the studio with Lisi Ashbridge and Bryony Cox.
