My hand-built stoneware bowls and jars are designed to be touched as well as seen.Their shapes are inspired by prehistory but their fragile rims and bell-like chimes belong to an altogether more contemporary world.
Slow coiling and scraping allow every piece to determine its own shape; what comes is what comes. Impressed surfaces are then decorated with colours that complement the tactile stoniness of the fired clay.
Visitors can also see Susie Whimster’s experimental paintings and prints (see separate entry) and are welcome to wander round the garden (no wheelchair access).
You will find us by taking the Ramsbury turning off the Green in Marlborough. At the village entrance, go straight on into Back Lane (20 mph). Continue on just past the school and Isles Road and the house is on the left, just before the Square. Please park on the opposite side of the road.
Work will be on show in the ground-floor rooms, which are wheelchair accessible. Rowan's studio also has wheelchair access but Susie's studio is up two flights of stairs.
