Kim Pethybridge
Kim discovered stone carving purely by chance 20 years ago on completion of a Degree in Drawing for Fine Art Practice. She fell in love with the medium and can totally loose herself in the process of creating a sculpture.. All pieces are made using traditional hand tools only, which give her a direct contact to the stone.
She particularly loves making Abstract "Shadow Dance" pieces with Ripples carved into them inspired by the ripples in the sand. These capture the play of light as the sun moves across the piece, bringing you back to look at the sculpture again and again. She also carves animals and faces and has just started on a series of nursery rhymes.
Her large outdoor Limestone sculptures will be dotted around the garden (where you will find a few changes) and smaller Soapstone pieces will be on show indoors. She will be more than happy to give you a demonstration when you visit.
Joined once again by Arty Pumpkin whose Mixed Media work will be on show indoors, and will be doodling away in the sunshine (hopefully).
They are both looking forward to welcoming you. Open until 6 pm on Sat 8th and Sat 15th, so do pop in at the end of your route.
