Kim Pethybridge
Kim discovered stone carving purely by chance 20+ years ago on a weekend course run by some Zimbabwean sculptors. She fell in love immediately with the medium and can totally loose herself in the process of creating a sculpture.. Her pieces are made using traditional hand tools, which give her a direct physical contact with the stone.
She particularly loves making Abstract "Shadow Dance" pieces with Ripples carved into them inspired by the ripples in the sand. These capture the play of light as the sun moves across the piece, bringing you back to look at the sculpture as the light changes. She also enjoys carving animals, particularly Owls and Hares.
Her larger outdoor Limestone sculptures will be dotted around the garden and smaller Soapstone pieces will be on show indoors. Kim will be working on some larger pieces due to go to Avebury during MOS. She will be more than happy to give you a demonstration when you visit.
Joined once again by Arty Pumpkin whose Mixed Media work will be on show indoors and delighted to welcome Charlotte Snipe who is also showing her work indoors this year. The Three of us look forward to welcoming you to Studio No.5 this year.
Kim is a member of the Cotswold Sculptors Association exhibiting with them at Miserden Gardens Glous 3rd June to 2nd August 2026. Also exhibiting at the National Trusts Avebury Manor 5th September to18th October 2026.
