I work from my studio in the garden, where my planting speaks to my love of vibrant colour, which in turn is often reflected in my floral pieces. My focus is increasingly on the expressive and intuitive, rather than realistic, whilst still drawing on a mix of observation and imaginative constructs, using organic forms as my starting point .
Recent work this year is on heavy paper and using oils, rather than acrylic and board. I am enjoying working at a much larger scale and the medium means I can develop several pieces over an amount of time, more mindfully perhaps, allowing for and embracing change, because of the slow drying nature of the paint. This work explores the contrast between the thick and thin application of the oils, in the same pieces. I am also trying to open my pieces up and pay equal attention to the negative spaces.

My house is on the Village Green in East Grafton. If you are coming from Burbage on the A338, enter the village and after the road narrows, turn right onto the Green signed Church. Then immediately right at the Village Hall, passing the car parking area on your right, bear left immediately in front of the Hall up the track past two thatched dwellings. My studio is the next one on your right(large beech tree).Park in the drive, in/out access, entering the garden through the gate on the drive to access my studio.
Travelling on A338 from Hungerford, on entering the village, the Green is on your left.
