DRAWINGS & PRINTS: I like to build images in black and white to emphasise form, light and pattern without the distraction of colour. Wiltshire’s downland can appear like the swell of the sea beneath big skyscapes, I might add a flock of birds or a plane to reflect the pattern across the horizon, or insert a swooping owl or heron standing stock still to lend scale to the sculptural forms of forest trees. I mainly use old fashioned dip pens to create large pieces.
