Ann Richmond
Over time, a studio practice has to breathe deeply if it’s to find the stamina to continue.
The Otherwurlde Collection, familiar to many of you, remains the emotional and narrative heart of what we do—and it isn’t going anywhere. Those long-form stories and original works still matter deeply to us, and you’ll see them on the walls here, as ever. But experience has taught us something useful: not everyone arrives wanting the same thing. Some visitors relish marmite—depth, intensity, a slow unravelling. Others, quite reasonably, would rather start with a little jam.
The Wylde Ones grew from that realisation. It is a more immediate body of work—distilled, characterful, and designed to meet people where they are. The animals are familiar, the humour light-footed, the connection quicker. The craft and intent, however, remain unchanged.
This year, during Open Studios, TWO takes the lead. Not as a replacement, but as a widening of the doorway—for those encountering the studio for the first time, and as a reminder that accessibility needn’t mean compromise.
We hope you recognise the hand. And perhaps discover something new in the process.
Please note: the studio will be open on Sundays only this year.
