Cathy Pearce
Huge expanses of serenely blue sky reflected in the Kennet and Avon Canal make up a large proportion of Cathy’s work this year besides woodland bluebell scenes from West Woods, orchard vistas with hawthorn blossom glades and paintings from various plein air painting sessions across the stunning Pewsey Vale. Soft pastel continues to dominate Cathy’s painting practice which, painting every day, enables her to produce uniquely exciting techniques and textures giving her a broad knowledge of how to best use her medium for a wide variety of landscape subjects, water being one of her recent favourites now that she is established in her studio near the canal at Caen Hill. Another successful and exciting painting year has seen Cathy have 2 paintings selected for the 127th Pastel Society exhibition and more recently this April saw Cathy and Christopher Poyser, exhibit their collection of landscape paintings entitled Conversations in the Field at Made in the Pewsey Vale where they enjoyed overwhelming support for their work.
