Kate Wade

My landscape and coastal paintings are created using a range of media, from pure watercolour, to watercolour combined with other materials such as charcoal and acrylic ink and graphite. I also paint in acrylics on wood panels when I feel a certain subject would be represented at its best, or if I want to explore an idea further.

My studio is a couple of miles from Avebury, a great source of inspiration. There are two rooms, the largest of which is my studio. The other room is used extensively as a classroom for teaching watercolours, acrylics, pastels and jewellery-making.

This year I'm delighted to be sharing the space with Mary Thorne Ceramics.

Directions

From Marlborough turn right just after Manton into Elm Tree Park industrial estate. The lane for turning right comes up quickly after a long right-hand bend in the road. Drive up the ramp straight ahead (Marlborough Fitness Centre is to the right) and park at the rear of the building. The studio door is by the black railings.

From Calne/Avebury the turning into Elm Tree Park is about a mile after Fyfield petrol station.
