Sylvia Wyatt
I work with recycled, ‘found’ materials to create pictures, sculptures, hangings and mobiles that play with ambiguity, light and colour. Plastic bottles, bubble wrap, keys, tongs, copper wire – the scope is enormous. My work demonstrates what can be created with materials we usually discard and throw away. Inspired by Alexander Calder, I make kinetic objects to encourage people to look around them. I enjoy playing with ambiguity, light and colour to create pieces with balance and movement.
Recently, my making has been guided by we have doing in Great Green Bedwyn, a climate action group which aims to identify and enable people to start to reduce their carbon footprint.
Commissions welcome.
